  1. Inability to understand the popularity of Mr Modi. Even at his lowest, the general perception of our PM is of someone who is non corrupt and hardworking. Focussing all attacks on him only adds to his popularity.

Talks of collaboration with the likes of Mamta, Mulayam and Lalu, the epitomes of bad governance only makes Congress look desperate to gain power, even at any cost.

The Congress party needs complete overhaul, with new faces and new policy. We need a constructive opposition, not just a bunch of rogues waiting to get back in power.

  2. Inability to change with the times.

The party is still run from 10, Janpath with someone at the helm even after delivering a lot of duds.

Caste and religious appeasements still takes the priority. (This is true for all the political parties, but they do not make it obvious)

Opposing even the good decisions of the ruling party. This makes them look like they can go to any extent to get back into the power. (Triple talaq is a recent example)

  3. The question is not who is responsible for the decline of Congress, but why is it declining even now. All the sins of its past, the policy paralysis, and it's inability to select a leader with native intelligence is probably the main reasons for the party's decline.
